Materials of Product

Avocado stitches their Alpaca Pima Jogger from a blend of renewable baby alpaca fiber and plush Pima cotton. “Baby alpaca fiber” is a reference to the finest, softest wool on the animal (typically the chest), and not its age. Baby alpaca is naturally hypoallergenic, breathable, renewable, and biodegradable. They source their alpaca fiber from a regenerative farm in the Peruvian Andes. Plus, alpaca fiber does not release microfibers into waterways and biodegrades at home and under industrial applications within 1 to 5 years. The Alpaca Pima Jogger is also made of Pima cotton, a strong, extra-long, high-end cotton native to and grown in Peru that’s known for its durability. Also, Pima cotton is typically handpicked, so it has a lower environmental impact and produces less waste than conventional cotton.

🌎  Instead of shipping returned mattresses around the country, Avocado prioritizes donations to local shelters and those in need
🌎  For the energy Avocado consumes, they match 100% of it with purchases of renewable energy certificates from wind farms. This drives clean energy to the grid and supports the growth of sustainable fuel sources.

🌎  Avocado's mattresses are made with organic, natural, biodegradable materials like latex, wool, and cotton that can be recycled and reused or allowed to biodegrade. As a result, materials are returned to nature with less impact on landfills than polyurethane mattresses. Avocado products also contain innovative materials created from waste and scraps.
